Council Meets with Leaders of the Hareidi Community

The Council for Peace and Security believes that now, more than ever, it is important to have a real dialogue between members of different groups of Israeli society. This dialogue, it is hoped, will enlighten both sides on the world view and beliefs of both groups in order to narrow the existing gaps between them. In this background, on the 7/8/2014 the Council for Peace and Security, in co-operation with the Interpeace Organization, initiated a meeting in the Mishkenot Shaananim neighborhood in Jerusalem. Among the group of about forty participants were members of the media, leaders of the Hareidi Community, Israeli former Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin, and the Chairman of the Council for Peace and Security, Brig Gen (res) Gadi Zohar. This meeting which was attended by many members of The Council, raised and debated many issues and aspects of the Israeli- Palestinian conflict, a reflection of recent events and social issues. The discussion developed in an open and profound dialogue between all the participants
